Bicentennial Quarters You Need to Check for Valuable Errors and Variants

The 1976 Bicentennial Quarter was minted to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the United States' independence.

The Bicentennial Quarter was minted in three different locations: Philadelphia (no mint mark), Denver (D), and San Francisco (S).

Off-center errors occur when the coin is not properly aligned in the press, resulting in a part of the design being cut off.

In some cases, mint marks were incorrectly placed on the coin or entirely missing. For example, a Bicentennial Quarter with no mint mark from a location that should have one

Repunched mint marks occur when the mint mark is struck more than once, slightly out of alignment. These errors can make the coin more desirable to collectors.

Clipped planchet errors happen when a coin blank is partially clipped before being struck. This can result in a coin with a missing section of its rim
